What are Gyosan?
Long ago, they were used by fishermen in Ogasawara as "non-slip sandals," and are very sturdy beach sandals with a one-piece thong and sole. As they are mainly worn by people who work in the fishing industry, they came to be called "Gyosan," an abbreviation of "fishermen's sandals."
